Wynne Evans was born in Carmarthen, South Wales and studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and the National Opera Studio, London.
Wynne enjoys a close association with Welsh National Opera where his roles with the company included Nemorino L’elisir d’amore, Cassio Otello (S4C Broadcast), Duke Rigoletto, Rodolfo La Bohème, Tamino Die Zauberflöte, Alfredo La Traviata, Jaquino Leonore (BBC Broadcast), Schoolmaster Cunning Little Vixen, Chevalier Les Dialogues de Carmelites, Italian Tenor Rosenkavalier, First Jew Salome (S4C and BBC Broadcast), Liberto L’Incoronazione di Poppea, Brighella in Ariadne auf Naxos and Alfred Die Fledermaus. Other roles include Vakula Cherevichki for Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Alfredo La Traviata Spoletta Tosca Second Jew Salome for English National Opera, Fenton Falstaff and Prunier La Rondine, Paulino The Secret Marriage for Opera North, Tamino Die Zauberflöte and Italian Tenor Der Rosenkavalier for Scottish Opera, Schoolmaster Cunning Little Vixen and Harry Fanciulla Del West Grange Park Opera,  Fracasso La Finta Semplice for the Classical Opera Company, Orpheus in Orpheus in the Underworld for Opera Holland Park, Peacock in Param Vir’s Broken Strings for the Almeida Festival, which was also recorded for BBC, Rodolfo for Castleward Opera also recorded for the BBC, Arvino il Lombardi and Foresto Attila for the Chelsea Opera Group.
Highlights on the concert platform include Vaughan Williams Serenade to Music at the televised opening night of the 2001 BBC Proms, Beethoven 9th Symphony RTE, Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius at the Welsh Proms in St David’s Hall, Tippett’s A Child of our Time in France, La mort d’Orfée with the Hanover Band, Third Jew Salome with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Andrew Litton, soloist in a special televised performance of Karl Jenkins’ Mass for Peace – The Armed Man, conducted by the composer in celebration of his 60th birthday, Verdi Requiem at Royal Albert Hall, London, Handel’s Messiah at St David’s Hall, Cardiff and a recital at the Wigmore Hall, London. He has also toured Sweden with the pianist Robert Wells and is a regular at outdoor concerts promoted by Musical Associates and IMG. Wynne is soloist on three CD volumes entitled ‘Here Come the Classics’ with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, recorded Salome for Chandos and has appeared on Friday Night is Music Night on many occasions.
2009 has seen Wynne’s schedule become even busier as he stars in latest advertising campaign for one of the UK’s leading comparison websites Gocompare.com, playing the flamboyant character Gio Compario.
In 2004 Wynne famously responded on behalf of the Welsh Rugby Team to the New Zealand Haka, and has since gone on to sing at over 20 internationals and is now a firm favorite at the Millennium Stadium. In 2007 Wynne was asked to sing the national anthem at the Calzaghie/Manfredo fight at the Millennium Stadium which had a television audience of over 150 million
In 2007 Wynne began presenting  on BBC Radio Wales.
Future plans include;  Die Enfurung for WNO,  Love Of Three Oranges and Capriccio for Grange Park Opera,  Ariadne Auf Naxos for ChandosÂ
Wynne is a trustee for The Elizabeth Evans Trust, an Ambassador for St Johns Cymru Wales and a Singing Professor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Wynne was awarded the MStJ by Her Majesty The Queen in 2008.
